One documented test case showed that fuel savings alone recovered the capital cost of installing the Marelco system, in less than one year.
Additional benefits were: The elimination of auxiliary equipment, increased condenser vacuum, increased equipment efficiency, improved heat transfer due to non-fouling, and savings of down-time and labour.
In newly constructed ships Marelco Protection has proved to reduce corrosion by more than 70% after initial coat-out. No significant replacement of sea water piping has been required on ships where our system was installed over 30 years ago.
